Let's go fishing

Well not literally, I don't like worms. I did fish back in my younger days. As I got older I fished twice in two different locations and caught a turtle both times. That ended my fishing career. This card is for my sons birthday. He fishes whenever he gets the chance. I used Jennifer McGuire's video to make another pop up card. I covered the inside bottom of the card because I wrote in it before I took the pictures. I stamped the greeting with a Mint Owl stamp and used Paper House 3D stickers for the fish accents and DMC metallic silver thread inside for the lure. The water is a Papertrey stamp that Sharyn from http://mycraftyplace281.blogspot.com/ recommended to me. It's hard to believe I have a son who will be 51 tomorrow! Where do the years go so fast.

I love it so much. I am so computer challenged that I would never have been able to do this. Loll also gave me several tips about blogging that have helped too. She is so generous about sharing, as well as many other bloggers are. Thank you, Loll.

This is a card I made for another dear friend. I used a Newton's Nook die called Hibiscus and some aqua drywall tape. The embossing folder is a sizzix 3D folder. They really are 3D. You must spritz both sides of the card stock before you run it through the die cut machine or it will cut the card stock.

I wanted to pop in and enter another card for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge. I've had this idea in my head to make a card with a Charlie Brown tree. Unfortunately, I don't have a stamp like that, although I'm sure there are some. So this is my version of it. Just a pitiful tree bent over with one shiny ornament on it. It is a Lawn Fawn stamp, ornament and sentiment. I punched the scalloped rug from scrap paper and added glossy accents to the ornament. The rectangle was cut with a Lil' Inker stitched die and I popped the tree and the panel up with foam tape. I tried to bend the tree over a bit to mimic Charlie's tree.  Be kind to one another.

I just have a quick post today. I was going through my stash looking for golf things and came across my baseball stash. If anyone reading my blog would like to have baseball stickers and ephemera please let me know. I would be happy to send these to you.  I used to scrapbook and both my grandsons played baseball so I have leftovers! Also have a few Barbie stickers from my granddaughters I would send too. Just let me know.  Be kind to one another. 

Just a reminder of the Geometric Twofer Card Challenge ending August 24th. Here are two more cards using Die-Namics stitched arch stax dies. The first card is the die turned to the side using Alexandra Renke paper for the giraffe. The second card used Lawn Fawn penguin stamps and flower soft for the snow. I used a brick embossing folder to mimic an igloo. I also dotted a few snowflakes on the window. Be kind to one another.

I truly love sunflowers and thought I might enter another card in the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge. Usually I make blobs when I do a stencil monoprint. A while back when I tried it before Loll gave me some advice so I'm doing this again. My first card is with Brushos and Color Burst through a stencil. It blobbed a bit in the center but otherwise I like it. The second card was done twice as the first one did blob. It is done with the same powders with green added. The third card is the blob! Persistance pays off.  I'm also going to enter the first card in the CAS Watercolor Card Challenge.   The stencil used on the first card is Stencil Girl and the second card uses a Plaid stencil. I wanted to play in the CAS watercolor challenge this month because it is sunflowers. I love them and actually do have stamps and one die of them.  Unfortunately I don't know the name of the company the die came from. I watercolored the flowers and leaves and little sprigs with zigs and water. I added a little detail with a zig pen on the leaves. The centers were rubbed with Nuvo crystal gloss dark walnut drops.  I used a sizzix stitched squares die to cut out the window and the sentiment is Sweet & Sassy. The little squiggles are Poppy Stamps Stitched Pumpkin Leaves and the leaves are Memory Box.  Be kind to one another.

Guest Designer for Twofer

I'm so happy to be a guest designer for the Twofer Card Challenge today.   The prompt word is geometric.

For my geometric design I chose the Wood grain framed diamond wire die by Kat Scrappiness to use on both cards.  

I stamped a Christmas tree on a white card panel and added a sequin star on top. I mounted the panel on green card stock and cut a Poppy Stamp window frame. I cut the diamond wire down to fit behind the window frame and glued it to acetate and attached it to the back of the frame. I popped the frame up on foam tape and added it to the card. The sentiment is Lawn Fawn. 

I cut another diamond wire and added it to a top folding black card base for my second card. The happy birthday and cupcake are Simon Says Stamp dies and sponged with Distress Ink I added glossy accents to the frosting and added foam tape to the back of it and added it on top of the die cut.

No big news here lately. I got a haircut and Molly got her nails trimmed so I guess you could say we had a spa day. The heat has broken and we had some pretty strong rain come through last night and more for today.

This is a fun card we made at SU a few months ago and I hadn't posted it so here it is. I thought it would be a fun one to send to one of the grandkids. The pigs just made me laugh. Be kind to one another.

Why does Jennifer McGuire make everything look so easy? I suffered for this card today. It took three tries and I did exactly what she said. I wanted to make a pop up card for my new next door neighbors. I used Lawn Fawn dies to make the hello from Lawn Fawn paper and a Gina Marie die for the chairs. The houses were cut from Impression Obsession dies. I wrote my greeting on the inside under the houses.  The arch was cut with a My Favorite Things die. I went a little astray with the folds on my first few cards or something. They didn't fold right and I was so frustrated I was ready to drive to Cincinnati. Fortunately, I figured it out and saved myself a trip. Be kind to one another.
